Leaving a Nursing Legacy

Scholarship and Fellowship Support At the University of Minnesota School of Nursing

Discovery thrives at the School of Nursing, improving patient care through the power of nursing knowledge. We celebrate the pivotal contributions made by scholarships and fellowships. We congratulate the students selected to receive these special awards and thank the generous donors who make these awards possible. During the current academic year, more than $500,000 has already been awarded to deserving undergraduate and graduate nursing students.

Leaving a Nursing Legacy

Including School of Nursing at the University in your estate plan allows you to build a meaningful and lasting legacy. Giving options can be designed to best meet your personal and financial circumstances. Gift planning opportunities include making a bequest through a will or living trust; establishing charitable gift annuities or charitable trusts; and/or using assets such as real estate, life insurance, or retirement accounts. Certain options can provide you with estate tax savings, while others provide fixed income for life and significant income tax advantages.

The President’s Club Heritage Society is comprised of our most forward-thinking donors who have made a gift that will benefit the University of Minnesota beyond their lifetime. The generous alumni and friends who have chosen to remember School of Nursing in their estate plans are a special group. Trusting the school to carry forth their legacies, these individuals will support nursing education and discovery—from scholarships to transformative research to faculty recruitment and retention.
