Whipple awarded Robert J. Jones Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center Research Agenda grant

Assistant Professor Mary Whipple, PhD, RN, PHN, FSVM, is a recipient of a Robert J. Jones Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center (UROC) 2023 Research Agenda grant.

Whipple’s  community-engaged research project is Understanding the Relationship Between Systemic Racism and Sedentary Behavior in Black Older Adults with Type 2 Diabetes.

The research project will receive $15,000 to help plan, establish, implement and evaluate strategic initiatives that advance the UROC Research Agenda's priorities. UROC staff will provide support and community-engaged guidance to the project through a community-based cohort model.
