Blue Cross and Blue Shield CEO Dana Erickson to deliver commencement address

The Fall 2022 Commencement Ceremony will be held on Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. at Northrop. Dana Erickson, president and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota and its parent company Stella, will deliver the commencement address. Erickson is responsible for overseeing the strategy and operations of the state’s largest non-profit health plan.

Victoria Jackson, MPH, BS will be speaking on behalf of Master of Nursing students, and Mai Joua Yang, BS, will be speaking on behalf of the Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality and Healing graduates.

Students in the School of Nursing’s Master of Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs and the Center for Spirituality and Healing Master of Arts in Integrative Health and Wellbeing Coaching and Post-Baccalaureate Certificate programs will be graduating.

At the ceremony, Jeannine Rivet, MPH, BSN, RN, FAAN, will receive an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Minnesota for her advancement of nursing and health care through public service. Rivet served as the executive vice president of UnitedHealth Group and is a leader in challenging systemic barriers to advancing women in leadership positions in health care.
