CNE 121: Interprofessional Health Informatics (part of AMIA 10x10 program)

The goal of the U of MN School of Nursing AMIA 10 x 10 course, Interprofessional Health Informatics,  is to examine the implications of informatics for practice, including nursing, public health, and health care in general. It will discuss electronic health record issues, relate ethical, legislative and political issues of informatics, and explore global and future informatics issues.

Telehealth Nurse Presenter is an online continuing education course to teach essential knowledge about the role of the telehealth nurse presenter. It includes information about current telemedicine and telehealth practice, as well as future directions. Key information about telehealth equipment, preparing and conducting a telehealth visit, and continuity of care following a telehealth visit are addressed.

Data Science Methods for Clinicians is an overview course with a focus on understanding new data analytic methods and application in healthcare. It does not require expertise in mathematics or statistics. The course will cover methods for reuse of big data in the context of healthcare for quality improvement and research, from an interprofessional team perspective.

CNE 162: Patient Engagement in Health Information

Patient Engagement in Health Information is an online course, featuring "e-Patient Dave" deBronkart, to explore patient empowerment, engagement and activation through the use of health information technology. Participants identify a project in their own organization and develop an action plan to engage patients in accessing their health information for shared decision-making with their health care providers.

CNE 201 and CNE 202: Children's Oncology Group

CNE 201: Children's Oncology Group Clinical Trials Nursing is online continuing education in individual modules that focuses on emerging finds from clinical trials and best practice for pediatric oncology nursing. The content will include current evidence-based practice for pediatric patients. Learners will have an opportunity to acquire knowledge for nursing practice at the bedside or in the clinic.

CNE 202: Children's Oncology Group Nursing Educational Track - Clinical Trials Pediatric Oncology Nursing is online continuing education in individual modules that aims to educate and disseminate information relative to clinical trials to pediatric oncology nurses and set the standard of excellence for the care of children and adolescents with cancer treated on COG clinical trials.

Module: Standard Precautions and Respiratory Hygiene

The purpose of the Standard Precautions and Respiratory Hygiene module is to provide an overview of Standard Precaution recommendations for infection prevention and control encompassing all areas of the healthcare delivery system. They are the foundation for preventing transmission of infectious agents. This module incorporates updates based on the 2007 approved CDC isolation guidelines.
