Biographical Summary

Dr. Jane Anderson, an accomplished nurse practitioner (NP), has played a significant role in advancing the field and promoting the importance of NPs. She has been instrumental in establishing nurse-run clinics within a predominantly medical environment and currently serves as the director of the Nurse Practitioners Clinic in Minneapolis.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Dr. Anderson was honored with the Nurse Practitioner Award for Excellence for the state of Minnesota by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) in 2023. Her expertise extends beyond clinical practice as she has fostered collaborative relationships with M Health Fairview and various recovery programs. She has also been actively involved in mentoring students as a preceptor and DNP project adviser.

Under Dr. Anderson's leadership, the M Health Nurse Practitioners Clinic, established in April 2015, has experienced remarkable growth, with annual patient visits more than doubling and continuing to increase. Moreover, she has spearheaded the establishment of four additional satellite primary care clinics.

Recognizing her exceptional qualities as a trailblazer, Dr. Anderson was bestowed with the Courage Award by the Women's Health Leadership Trust in 2018. This accolade acknowledged her strength, courage, perseverance, and resilience in the face of uncertainty.

Overall, Dr. Anderson's pioneering work, social engagement, and representation of the nurse practitioner profession have made a significant impact, propelling the role of NPs forward and earning her well-deserved recognition and admiration within the healthcare community.
