Monsen receives 2 research awards at MNRS, students place in poster competitions

Associate Professor Karen Monsen, PhD, RN, FAAN, FAMIA, received two awards at the Midwest Nursing Research Society’s 43rd Annual Research Conference held in Kansas City March 27-30.

Monsen was the recipient of the Research Excellence Award from the Population Health Research Interest Group as well as the Senior Investigator Award from the Health Systems, Policy and Informatics Research Interest Group.

The Senior Investigator Award is awarded to an experienced researcher who has made outstanding contributions to Health Systems, Informatics, and Policy Research Interest Group and has served as a mentor for students and/or peers.

In addition, Kristin Elgersma, a Master of Nursing alum, earned first place in the masters poster competition and PhD studentxCamille Brown earned third place in the PhD poster competition.
