School Nurse Organization of Minnesota (SNOM) 2020 Annual Conference
The 2020 SNOM Annual Conference will start the day with keynote speaker, Denise Herrmann from the Minnesota Department of Health. Denise will provide current, relevant updates and information related to student and staff health related to COVID-19. In the second session, Mary Heiman, Minnesota NASN Director and Deb Mehr, President of SNOM, will describe the Leadership Component of the NASN Framework for 21st Century Nursing and the importance of coordination, communication, and community partnerships. For the third session, Mariclaire England from the Minnesota Board of Nursing will discuss the Minnesota regulations that govern nursing practice in the state, nursing delegation principles, and application to school nursing practice. Jennifer Terry will conclude the day with a presentation on cultural behavior and cultural patterns that impact the way families interact with the school communities, while exploring the many ways culture impacts how we communicate with others and affects our understanding of others.
Hosted virtually by the University of Minnesota School of Nursing, Office of Professional Development; Zoom and Canvas will be used.
M Health Fairview is the continuing nursing education provider for the 2020 SNOM Annual Conference.
The SNOM annual conference is being jointly provided by the School Nurse Organization of Minnesota and M Health Fairview ANCC Provider Unit.
M Health Fairview is an accredited provider for nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
This activity is awarded up to 6.0 ANCC contact hours.
Other Health Professionals
It is the responsibility of each participant to determine if the program meets the criteria for re-licensure or re-certification for their discipline.
Each participant will receive a Certificate of Attendance upon completion of all accreditation requirements.
Successful Completion by Participants
Learners must complete:
Check-in process the day of the conference;
Actively engage in activity content;
Complete the online Evaluation + CE Tracker.

Cost for 2020 SNOM Conference:
SNOM Member: $50
No registrations will be accepted after 11:59pm November 9, 2020. Registration is to be done online with a credit card (checks/cash not accepted). If you need to register a group, please contact Taylor Gilard at email@example.com.
In the event that you need to cancel your registration, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. A refund will be issued for cancellations requested by November 6, 2020. No refunds will be issued for cancellations requested after this date.
A full refund of fees paid will be made if the program is not held. The SNOM 2020 Planning Committee reserves the right to cancel the program if necessary.
