Samantha Sommerness, DNP, RN, CNM, is a Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Nursing. She earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Minnesota, a master’s degree in nursing from University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Portland. Sommerness served as an Army nurse from 1993 to 1998 and as an advanced practice perinatal leader at Fairview Southdale Hospital. She is on the editorial board of the Journal of Perinatal and Neonatal Nursing.
