Visiting Scholars

Sponsorship by a School of Nursing faculty member is required. Primary attention is given to the fit between the prospective scholar’s research, education and/or practice goals and the faculty sponsor. Faculty biographies can be found on our website.

How to Apply

To apply to be a visiting scholar, complete the School of Nursing Visiting Scholar application and submit to globnurs along with a current vita (in English) and proof of English proficiency. Applications are reviewed one time per year and are due by March 30th. Only completed applications will be considered. Applicants will receive email notification of acceptance by no later than April 30. Visits typically begin 3 months after notification of acceptance and pending approval of J-Visa documents. Email questions about the visiting scholar program to globnurs@umn.edu.
