Linda Lindeke, PhD, RN, CNP, Assistant Professor, School of Nursing, University of Minnesota

Linda has focused on children's health and chronic illness since her undergraduate days at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. She spent several years in Alberta, Ontario and British Columbia working in Pediatric ICU and teaching pediatric nursing. Linda came to the University of Minnesota in 1976 to enter the pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP) master's program then located in the School of Public Health and was hired after graduation to work in the Pediatric Clinic at the U of M where she immediately became a PNP preceptor.

Linda coordinated the PNP program at the College of St. Catherine before joining the faculty of the School of Nursing in 1994. Each Friday afternoon, Linda is part of an interdisciplinary team that carries out research and provides care to graduates of the neonatal intensive care units; she also works in the Fast Track Emergency Room of Children's Hospital and Clinic-Minneapolis. Her research stems from her clinical practice (followup of high-risk infant health outcomes) and PhD dissertation (master's level nursing education and barriers to advanced practice). She lives with her three young adult children, two pampered cats, and a lovable dog on a wooded acre in Mendota Heights. She enjoys music, hiking, reading and travel.
