FOURTH ANNUAL UPPER MIDWEST GERIATRIC NURSING EDUCATION ALLIANCE MEETING

MOUNT MARTY COLLEGE ANNOUNCES THE ADDITION OF NEW MASTERS IN NURSING PROGRAM
Mount Marty College (Yankton, SD), a leader in BSN nursing education for 50 years and an Upper Midwest Geriatric Nursing Education Alliance school announces the addition of a Masters Degree in Nursing beginning in January 2011. The Masters Degree in Nursing will offer the following specialties: Advanced Public Health Nurse Leader; Pediatric Nurse Practitioner; and Adult Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. In addition, the program features a unique curriculum and hybrid online format that will allow students face-to-face contact with each other and healthcare leaders during 3-day immersion sessions at the beginning of each semester and at mid-semester across the two years of study. Center Updates
UNIVERSITY OF MN SCHOOL OF NURSING EXTENDS APPLICATION DEADLINES
The priority deadline for the DNP program was November 1, 2010, and the priority deadline for the PhD program was December 15, 2010. However, applications are accepted through March 1, 2011 for both of these programs and priority is given to those applications that were received by the priority deadlines. For the first time, the PhD application will remain active until March 1, 2011. It is still possible to be accepted into both of these programs. It is recommended that you submit your application this year as soon as it is ready. Available openings will continue to be filled on a rolling basis until March 1, 2011, or until the program has reached full capacity. Doctorate At Your Fingertips is a monthly newsletter distributed to individuals who have expressed an interest in obtaining their PhD and/or DNP degree at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing, and is created and distributed by the Minnesota Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence (MNHCGNE). GERONTOLOGICAL JOURNAL CLUB FOR 2011
Join us for the Gerontological Nursing Journal Club, a lively discussion of journal articles on cutting-edge gerontological nursing research accompanied by light refreshments. Articles are distributed by e-mail each month and posted each month on the Center's bulletin board on the 6th floor, Weaver-Densford Hall.
