The University of Minnesota School of Nursing invites applications for clinical track positions at the Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Instructor levels.
We seek faculty who share our vision of education, scholarship, practice, and community service. We welcome candidates who are prepared to exercise leadership in a diverse, collegial and interprofessional environment at this top research-intensive university. Based on expertise and interest, new faculty will join one of four established areas of scholarship:
- Adult and Gerontological Health
- Child and Family Health
- Integrative, Global and Public Health
- Leadership, Systems, Informatics, and Policy for Improving Health
Mission Statement:
The School's mission is to generate and disseminate to students, colleagues, the wider community, and the world knowledge necessary for improving the health of individuals, families, and populations.
Successful candidates:
- Fulfill responsibilities of full-time 9 month renewable appointment.
- Teach and advise students.
- Contribute to the advancement of nursing science through scholarship.
- Engage in community and professional service associated within area of expertise.
- Participate in School of Nursing and University governance activities.
Required qualifications per rank:
Clinical Instructor
- Masters' degree
- License to practice nursing in Minnesota or comparable qualification
- Advanced practice certification if applicable
- Evidence of comprehensive knowledge and experience in area of specialization
- Evidence of scholarship potential
Clinical Assistant Professor
- Earned doctoral degree in nursing or comparable qualification
- License and certifications as described for instructor
- Evidence of excellence in specialty area
- Experience at the clinical instructor level
- Evidence of excellence in teaching
- Defined area of scholarship
- Disseminated product(s) of scholarly work
Clinical Associate Professor
- Degree(s) and certification(s) as above
- Clinical program direction and/or leadership in a professional organization or area of specialty
- Experience in teaching at the assistant clinical professor level or equivalent
- Sustained record of scholarly contributions/disseminated products
Clinical Professor
- Degree(s) and certification(s) as above
- National or International leadership in area of specialty
- Experience in teaching at the associate professor level or equivalent
- Regional or national or international leadership in teaching
- Sustained and substantive record of scholarly contributions
Salary and rank commensurate with experience. Start date of 9 month annually renewable appointment negotiable. Applications are considered until positions are filled. Application is online only.
