Our mission is to lead gerontological nursing research, education and practice by generating new knowledge, disseminating findings, and translating research into practice that is important locally and globally to improve the health of older individuals, their families, communities and populations.

During the past six years faculty members have been awarded over $10 million to conduct aging-related research and educational projects. Center faculty are conducting innovative research on:

  • Health behavior and quality of life
  • Incontinence and skin care management
  • Functional health promotion and restoration
  • Delirium, dementia, and caregiving
  • Alternative therapies
  • Quality of long-term care
  • Health informatics
  • Health policy and aging
