Cynthia Peden-McAlpine will be one of this year's recipients of the Awards for Outstanding Contributions to Post-baccalaureate, Graduate and Professional Education. The award is made by the Senate Committee on Educational Policy. She will also be inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Teachers. Cynthia will be honored at a ceremony on Monday, April 26, 3:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall at the McNamara Center. In addition to an engraved sculpture, lapel pin and certificate, she will receive a salary augmentation for the duration of her career as as U of M faculty member, and for five years the school will receive funds for her professional use. The award, established in 1999, is University-wide. Recipients are honored for their performance as teachers, advisors, and mentors; their development of instructional programs; and/or their inclusion of students in research, scholarship, and professional development.
