U of M School of Nursing Selects 2007 Densford Clinical Scholars
MINNEAPOLIS / ST. PAUL (Nov. 29, 2007) - The University of Minnesota School of Nursing, through the Katharine J. Densford International Center for Nursing Leadership, has selected its 2007 Densford Clinical Scholars. The program aims to improve patient care through partnerships between advanced practice nurses (APNs) from clinical facilities and faculty members from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. The partners identify a clinical problem in the care setting that requires attention and then develop and implement a clinical intervention for improving the situation.

Disch Receives 2007 President's Award from the American Academy of Nursing
Joanne Disch, PhD, RN, FAAN, along with nursing colleague Karlene Kerfoot, PhD, RN, CNAA, FAAN, was awarded the 2007 American Academy of Nursing Presidential Award at the Academy's 34th annual conference on November 10. The award was given in recognition of their creation of "Raise the Voice," campaign.

Two U of M School of Nursing Faculty Inducted as Fellows into the American Academy of Nursing
MINNEAPOLIS / ST. PAUL (Nov. 12, 2007) - Two University of Minnesota School of Nursing faculty members, Christine A. Mueller and Linda Olson Keller, were inducted as Fellows into the American Academy of Nursing (AAN) at the Academy's 34th annual conference on Saturday. The AAN selects fellows based on evidence that the nominee's work has contributed significantly to nursing and health care at a national or international level, and that their work has the capacity to make contributions in the future.

U of M School of Nursing Announces Minnesota Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence Scholars
MINNEAPOLIS / ST. PAUL (Nov. 5, 2007) - The University of Minnesota School of Nursing has selected its 2007 Minnesota Hartford Center for Geriatric Nursing Excellence (MnHCGNE) scholarship recipients. This year's scholars are Mary Dierich, Sue (Patricia) Bikkie, Niloufar Hadidi, Audrey Weymiller, and Diane Willer-Sly.

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The University of Minnesota School of Nursing will host its second annual Summit of Sages event for leaders, Oct. 14 -16 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in St. Paul. Dr. Maya Angelou is the opening speaker for this year's summit.

School of Nursing Awarded John A. Hartford Foundation Grant, Opens MN Hartford Center for Geriatric Nursing Excellence
MINNEAPOLIS / ST. PAUL (Sept. 28, 2007) - In order to meet the Upper Midwest's critical need for nurses with expertise in caring for older adults, the University of Minnesota School of Nursing has been awarded $1.5 million dollars from the John A. Hartford Foundation and the University of Minnesota to open the Minnesota Hartford Center for Geriatric Nursing Excellence (MnHCGNE).

U of M Nursing Hails International Recognition for Leadership in Researching and Developing Nursing Minimum Data Sets
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL (Sept. 17, 2007) - The University of Minnesota School of Nursing has earned national and international recognition for its work with nursing minimum data sets, including the Nursing Management Minimum Data Set which was co-developed by dean of the School of Nursing, Connie Delaney, Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N., F.A.C.M.I.
