President Bruininks Proposes Health Sciences Center for Allied Health Programs

(October 28, 2005) - In Rochester today, President Bruininks proposed a Health Sciences Center for Allied Health Programs that would enable the community to meet some of its pressing health workforce needs. The new center would develop on the existing University of Minnesota, Rochester campus and involve partnerships between the university, Mayo Clinic and selected Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) institutions. He also said the University of Minnesota should have management and degree-granting authority for all upper division, graduate and professional courses.
