Our first annual Midwest Geriatric Nursing Education Alliance Meeting hosted in Minneapolis, MN will be held starting the evening of May 27th and concluding on May 29th.
The mission of the University of Minnesota Hartford Center is to advance the care of older adults by preparing outstanding nursing faculty from diverse backgrounds who can provide leadership in strengthening geriatric nursing at all levels of academic nursing programs. The primary goal will be to increase the number of high quality new and existing faculty who will provide academic leadership in geriatric nursing at associate and higher degree nursing programs in the Upper Midwest region, and Tribal Colleges nationally. Our first meeting will be an exploration and establishment of a strategic plan to advance geriatric nursing.
In addition to the implementation of our strategic plan, we are also very pleased to announce Dr. Heather Young, PhD, GNP, FAAN (Oregon Health Sciences University) will be our special guest speaker at 5:00 pm on May 27, 2008, at the Radisson University Hotel.
