Non-Tenure/Non-Tenure-Track Teaching Positions
Full- and Part-Time
(Teaching Specialists)
Twin Cities and Rochester

When the Minnesota's School of Nursing was founded in 1909, it became the world's first continuing university-based school of nursing - giving rise to a tradition of leadership and commitment to the health concerns of society and the nursing profession.

The University of Minnesota is one of the most comprehensive universities in the United States and ranks among the most prestigious. It is both a state land-grant university, with a strong tradition of education and public service, and one of the nation's premier research institutions, with scholars of national and international reputation. The University's Twin Cities campus is ranked among the top three public research universities in the nation.

The School's mission is to generate and disseminate to students, colleagues, the wider community, and the world knowledge necessary for improving the nursing care of individuals, families, and populations. Nursing has the largest master's program within the Graduate School at the University of Minnesota with 18 areas of study. In addition, the School is home to a distinctive sophomore admission baccalaureate program (with an honors option) on the Twin Cities' and Rochester campuses and an innovative post-baccalaureate certificate program.

The School has several outstanding opportunities for master's prepared nurses who wish to teach full or part-time (25% to 100%) in either the Twin Cities or Rochester. Responsibilities include didactic, clinical, and/or laboratory instruction and evaluation of students. Instructors will work collaboratively with a faculty team to prepare educational materials, facilitate student learning, and evaluate student performance. Clinical specialty areas where instructors are needed for 2005-2006 include GNP, psychiatric/mental health, CRNA, pediatrics, OB, FNP, Public Health, and coordinator of nursing learning laboratories.
