Online Learning Opportunities

Overview

The School of Nursing is a leader at the University of Minnesota in providing a range of online learning opportunities for students pursuing graduate education. The University of Minnesota has outstanding technical and web-design resources that enhance our ability to bring the latest developments in online learning into students' homes. All of the nursing core courses required for the Master's (MS) degree are offered in either an online or face-to-face format. All courses in areas of study offered online include 2 to 3 on-campus visits per semester. Online learning provides an opportunity for students who live outside the Twin Cities metro area to obtain an advanced degree in nursing and offers flexible options for those who live in the metro area. The School of Nursing has the following programs available through online learning:

  • MS with a major in Nursing: All areas of study provide opportunities for learning online. However, all Nurse Midwifery, Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nursing and Health Systems Administration courses are offered online.
  • Post-Master's Certificate Program: All areas of study provide opportunities for online learning.
