Nurse-Midwifery: Faculty
Faculty at the University of Minnesota believe that learning is best achieved in a supportive environment that provides opportunities for inquiry, practice, and interpersonal exchanges. Faculty share a commitment to the preparation of nurse-midwives who concentrate their efforts on the study of perinatal and women's health care.
The faculty strives to provide educational opportunities that are interdisciplinary and cross-cultural. Educational goals focus on the development of an understanding and awareness of the unique issues in the health care of women, their children, and their families. Students are prepared to provide individual care to women and newborns as well as to participate in and lead change in the health care setting.
The Nurse-Midwifery faculty members are qualified educators who teach as well as participate in practice in a variety of settings with diverse populations. All are PhD, DNP or Master?s prepared and certified in their specialty area.
