Our Mission

The goal of this specialty nurse practitioner service is to provide comprehensive evaluation and conservative treatments to patients, adolescent and adult, experiencing bladder dysfunction.

Our Providers

Jean F. Wyman, PhD, APRN-BC, GNP, FAAN, FSGA
Clinic Director

Dr. Jean Wyman is internationally recognized for her research on urinary incontinence and the quality of life of incontinent women. She has been the principal investigator and co-investigator on several clinical trials funded by the National Institutes of Health on behavioral, pharmacological and surgical interventions used in the management of female urinary incontinence. She has authored numerous articles, patient educational materials and designed patient evaluation instruments. In 2003, she was awarded a Continence Care Champion award from the National Association for Continence (NAFC).

Dr. Wyman is Professor and Cora Meidl Siehl Chair in Nursing Research at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing where she directs the Center for Gerontological Nursing and the Minnesota Continence Associates. She holds a joint appointment as Professor of Community Health and Family Practice at the University of Minnesota Medical School. She is certified both as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner (GNP) and a Gerontological Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Dr. Wyman received her Ph.D. and Master's Degree from the University of Washington.

Melinda Monigold, APRN-BC, MSN, FNP, CWOCN
Nurse Practitioner

Melinda Monigold, a family nurse practitioner, has collaborated on multiple research initiatives in the care of elderly and aging adults with Dr. Wyman.

In addition to her research activities, she has had extensive experience in many aspects of nursing care including managing the medical care of nursing home patients at HealthPartners PartneringCare Senior Services.

She received her Master's Degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, in Birmingham, Alabama and holds additional certification as a Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse.
