Long-Term Care
Nursing Leadership and Management

Take A Short Online Course

Introduction

Consider these questions:

  • How can you continue to develop your knowledge and skills to be an effective nurse leader?
  • Have you been able to find education programs that are specific to the roles and responsibilities of nurse leaders in long-term care facilities?
  • Are you interested in seeking increased responsibility as a nurse leader in a long-term care facility?
  • Is it difficult for you to find the time to attend education programs?

nurse leader at a laptopThe answer to the questions is a series of web-based education programs that have been developed for nurse leaders in long-term care facilities. The 6-hour programs can be completed at your convenience via the Internet. At this time, the online education programs are available for professional continuing education contact hours. In the near future, they will be available for academic credit.

The web-based education programs are designed to address competencies identified for nurse leaders in long-term care facilities. As part of a project sponsored by the American Nurses Foundation, a document delineating the roles, responsibilities and qualifications of nurse administrators and directors of nursing in long-term care was developed and serves as the basis for the web-based education programs. The education programs will be pertinent to nurses who are in leadership positions in long-term care facilities.
