Walk Through Nursing History... A Fashionable Experience

Alumna Barb Zell and student Beth Bassett model nursing uniforms from the 1960s and '70s. Barb is wearing her uniform from 1967.

It was a day of stepping back in time ... back to the School of Nursing's founding ninety-nine years ago. The Alumni Spring Celebration and Reunion was an afternoon of nostalgia and entertainment for the nearly 150 alumni and friends who attended. Dr. Joanne Disch, director, Katharine J. Densford International Center for Nursing Leadership, shared historical highlights of the School while uniforms from the earliest days of the School to today's scrubs were modeled. An additional highlight was the modeling of vintage attire throughout the decades. Memories of reunion classes from 1948, March and August of 1958 and 1968 provided humor and opportunities for classmates to reflect on days as students.
