Keynote PresentationDownload keynote presentation “Engaging Communities in Research: From Efficacy to Scale Up,” presented by Antonia M. Villarruel, PhD, RN, FAAN. Dr. Villarruel has an extensive background in health promotion and health disparities research and practice. Her research focuses on the development and testing of interventions to reduce HIV sexual risk among Mexican and Latino youth. Utilizing a community participatory approach, Dr. Villarruel has been the Principle Investigator and Co-Investigator of several NIH and CDC funded studies. Read more. The University ofâMinnesota School of Nursing Research Day is committed to advancing nursing science and scholarship as the foundation for practice. Program objectivesAfter attending, participants will be able to: - Describe nursing and interdisciplinary research and evidence-linked initiatives in the School of Nursing and the health care community.
- Investigate ways these innovations can be used to optimize health outcomes in clinical practice, health policy, and research.
Who should attendResearch Day is targeted for researchers in nursing and related health sciences, nurse educators, practicing nurses, and nursing students who are committed to advancing nursing science and scholarship as the foundation for practice. AccreditationThe University of Minnesota School of Nursing, Office of Practice, Partnerships, and Professional Development is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation.
